Known But To God

Description

I was listening to Mansions of The Lord when I made this. I first took a listen to this song after watching We Were Soldiers for a second time (first time was three years ago), a pretty good movie starring Mel Gibson.

This wallpaper, which you're free to use so long as you know who made it, is but a small portion of my tribute to the true patriots : the soldiers. I hold pretty much nothing but respect for the men and women who serve this country. In the end, they are people who are doing their jobs, often times resulting in their sacrifice for their country, bringing about peace, freedom, security of you, me, and their families.

If I didn't have so much to live for, I'd join the armed forces and pledge my loyalty to the republic. But since I'm too afraid to give everything up, I figured the least I could do is pay respect to those who are serving. This wallpaper is one of them.

"To fallen soldiers, let us sing! Where no rockets fly or bullets wing, our broken brothers let us bring: to the Mansions of the Lord. No more bleeding, no more fight; no friends bleeding through the night. Just divine embrace, eternal light in the Mansions of the Lord. Where no mothers cry and no children weep, we will stand and guard though the angels sleep. Oh, through the ages let us keep the Mansions of the Lord!"

That's a great wallpaper you've made and I appreciate your willingness to let others use. The song is an amazing hymn, too; I heard it when I was in high school and as a member of the Men's Choir I just knew we had to perform it. I bought the sheet music and my friends and I got to sing it at my school's spring show, which was in mid-May. I hoped that maybe it would give the audience something to think about as they prepared for their Memorial Day weekends.
